Gang hit in Couva
Tue 3 February 2015 - Sitting on a bench in front of their home at June Street, Lisas Gardens, Couva, Tuesday around 3:00 PM, two men were shot in what police describe as a gang-related hit. One man was killed and the other wounded after two gunmen approached the pair and opened fire. The triggermen then fled the crime scene on foot.
Dead is 35-year-old Hayden 'Ludo' Nero, described by police as a "notorious gangster". Wounded is Nero's friend Dwayne Callender.
Nero, who also kept a home at Quarry Village in Siparia, was shot in the head and chest and died at the crime scene. Callender was shot in both legs and was found by police lying on the ground bleeding when they arrived a short time later.
