Dillon Douglas, 22

A 22-year-old man who police suspected was dealing in narcotics was shot dead on Wednesday night while he and a friend were standing at Balthazar Street, Tunapuna.
Police said around 7.30 p.m. the murder victim, Dillon Douglas, 22, and Sheldon Baboolal were standing at Balthazar Street when a car slowed down near them.
A man in the front passenger seat leaned out, pointed a gun at the two men and opened fire.
Douglas was struck five times and died on the spot.
Baboolal was shot as well but neighbours who were nearby and heard the gunshots contacted the police and they arrived and took Baboolal to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he remained in stable condition yesterday.
Douglas's body was eventually removed to the Port of Spain Mortuary and a post-mortem done yesterday concluded that he died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. Region 2 Homicide Bureau officers are continuing investigations.
The 2016 murder toll totalled 258 up to last night while the toll last year at this time was 231.
