Keron Holder 

Murder #45: Male, 22 years old, shot to death.

A 22-year-old man of Upper Lanse Mitan Road, Carenage, is this country’s latest murder victim.

According to police reports, Keron Holder was killed at about 9.35 pm on Saturday, as he left his home to go outside to have a bath.

Shortly after Holder left, several loud explosions were heard coming from the yard and his common-law wife found him lying on the ground, gasping for breath. He had been shot about the body.

Holder was taken to the St James Medical Complex where he died receiving treatment.

WPC Bobb-Lynch is continuing investigations. 

Darren Berkeley - Murder #44

Murder #44: Male, 44 years old, beaten to death.

A COUPLE was beaten about the body with an iron crowbar or “pigfoot” early yesterday morning, resulting in the death of a 44-year-old labourer.

Police reports are that around 2 a.m. Claire Nathaniel, 48, was asleep at home with her husband Darren Berkeley, when they were awakened by a noise on the roof. The couple lived at Todd’s Road, Chaguanas where Nathaniel also owns a bar. Upon checking, they were confronted by two men armed with the pigfoot. 

The men tied up the couple and began beating both but Berkeley received more blows.  

He died at the scene. 

The men stole alcohol, cigarettes and jewelry  from the house. Berkeley’s body was taken to the San Fernando mortuary. Officers from the Chaguanas Police Station are continuing investigations. 

Farzan Ali - Murder #43

Murder #43: Male, 27 years old, stabbed to death.

A PIARCO man was beaten and stabbed to death around 2 a.m. yesterday following an argument he had with two men over his ex-girlfriend.

Farzan Ali, 27, was liming at the Pyramid Bar at Centenary Street, Tunapuna when around 2 a.m. he got into the argument with the two men.

Ali then left the bar but was pursued by the two men who began beating him about the body.

One of the men then picked up a bottle, broke it and began stabbing Ali.

Bar patrons contacted the Tunapuna police and they arrested the suspects.

Ali was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope where he died while undergoing treatment.

Murder #42: Male, 35 years old, shot to death.

"Goat" found at last
Fri 13 February 2015 - A man cutting grass off the Solomon Hochoy Highway near Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba stumbled upon a decomposing body lying in the bushes Friday.

Around 6:30 AM police were called and arrived to begin their investigations. The remains of the body matched the description of 35-year-old Azard "Goat" Ali.

When police went to remove the body, they found a chrome 9mm pistol underneath. It is believed to be the murder weapon used to shoot Salma Chadee last month.

Ali was wanted for the murders of both Salma Chadee and his ex-wife Sherlene Mahangoo-Charles. He was also wanted for the shooting and critically wounding of his 14-year-old stepdaughter, Kimberly Mahangoo.

The body was taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for DNA testing and an autopsy is to be performed soon. 

Michael Telesford - Murder #41

Body dumped in Barataria
Thu 12 February 2015 - 25-year-old Michael Telesford of Upper Sixth Avenue, Malick, was found around 9:25 PM Thursday with his hands bound behind his back, shot to death. His body was lying face down in the road at Third Street and 6th Avenue, Barataria.  

Rafael "Scabber" McKenzie - Murder #40

Murder #40: Male, 35 years old, shot to death.

Shot twice in the head
Thu 12 February 2015 - At La Puerta Road, Diego Martin, around 9:00 PM Thursday residents heard gunshots and called police. Police arrived to find 35-year-old Rafael "Scabber" McKenzie lying dead in the road. He was wearing a bulletproof vest, but had been fatally shot twice in the head. Near the body was a loaded Uzi submachine gun.

Upon investigation, police found a quantity of marijuana on his person.

McKenzie was the primary suspect in the recent murder of his girlfriend Sahiri Logan. He had been in hiding since her death. 

Ricardo Roolsie - Murder #39

Murder #39: Male, age unknown, cause of death unknown.

Burnt remains fround in La Brea
Thu 12 February 2015 - The automobile of used-car salesman, Ricardo Toolsie, was found abandoned on the roadside of an oil field road off the Southern Main Road, Chinese Village, La Brea Thursday evening. Around 7:00 PM, police were called and arrived to investigate. Near the vehicle they found the burnt remains of the car's owner lying in the bushes.

Toolsie, originally of Vistabella Road, San Fernando, had recently moved to Couva to live with his girlfriend. She reported him missing to the police on Wednesday and had not seen, nor heard from him, since Tuesday.

The remains were taken to the San Fernando Mortuary for DNA testing and an autopsy is to be performed upon positive identification being made.

Rawle Davis - Murder #37

Murder #37: Male, 30 years old, shot to death.

Body found at bottom of precipice
Thu 12 February 2015 - Father of two, Rawle Davis, 30, of Pinto Road, Arima, was doing roof work at Dundonald Hill, Belle View and Lower Circular in St James Thursday. Around 5:00 PM he came off the roof to smoke a cigarette, when a lone gunman approached and shot him multiple times in the face and neck.

Neighbors called police who arrived to find his lifeless body at the bottom of a nearby precipice. He was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police suspect the murder is connected to an earlier altercation. 

Kendon Lewis - Murder #36

Murder #36: Male, 27 years old, shot to death.

Gunned down in Laventille
Tue 10 February 2015 - On Tuesday night, around 8:00 PM, 27-year-old taxi driver Kendone Lewis of Trou Macacque, Laventille was sitting in his car parked before his home. A lone gunman walked up to Lewis and opened fire striking him multiple times about the body.

The father of one was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Lewis' mother witnessed the murder of her son, as the unrecognized killer calmly approached the car, opened fire, and then walked away. The killer's face was covered and he never said a word during the commission of the heinous crime.

Police recovered several spent bullet casings at the crime scene

Darryl Bynoe - Murder #35

Murder #35: Male, 27 years old, shot to death.

Killed for a gold chain and cellphone
Sun 8 February 2015 - 27-year-old Tobago resident Darryl Bynoe was shot in the head at his sister's home on Ramkissoon Trace, Old St Joseph Road in San Juan Sunday morning while lying in bed. His gold chain and cell phone were stolen in the incident.

Bynoe had been arrested three times for robbery in the past and was recently acquitted of the latest charge. Relatives counseled the young man to change his ways and the victim took their advice .

On Friday he left Tobago and came to Trinidad to stay with his sister. On Saturday he was baptized in a Pentecostal religious service. On Sunday he was shot during a home-invasion robbery

Walter Elahi - Murder #34

Murder #34: Male, 33 years old, shot to death.

Biche murder
Fri 6 February 2015 - Around 10:30 PM Friday, a neighbor was walking on the street in front of the house of 33-year-old Walter Elahi of Biche, when he noticed Elahi lying on the ground in the front yard. The neighbor called out to Elahi, but received no response, so he called police and emergency health services.

Authorities arrived to the Plum Mitan Road home, where they found Elahi dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was well-known to police. At the time of his death, Elahi had drug-related charges pending before the court.

One man was killed and the other wounded after two gunmen approached the pair and opened fire. The triggermen then fled the crime scene on foot.

Dead is 35-year-old Hayden 'Ludo' Nero, described by police as a "notorious gangster". Wounded is Nero's friend Dwayne Callender.

Nero, who also kept a home at Quarry Village in Siparia, was shot in the head and chest and died at the crime scene. Callender was shot in both legs and was found by police lying on the ground bleeding when they arrived a short time later.

Sahiri Logan - Murder #32

Murder #32: Female, 26 years old, shot to death.

Young woman's body found in DM Mon 2 February 2015 - 26-year-old Sahiri Logan of Mason Street, Diego Martin was found murdered Monday morning around 7:15 AM. She was shot once in the back of the head, execution-style. After receiving an anonymous tip earlier that morning, police found her body lying along Broome Street, near La Puerta, in Diego Martin. Police surmise that the victim was killed elsewhere and her body was dumped on Broome Street. Her brother, Quasy Logan, said he last saw his sister alive on Sunday afternoon and that she tried to call him around 3:00 AM Monday morning, but he missed the call, not hearing the ringtone while he slept. The victim's family is baffled as to why somebody would kill her. An autopsy is to be performed Tuesday at the Forensic Science Centre in St James.

Murder #31: Female, age unknown, cause of death unknown.

Decomposing body found near Chaguaramas
Sun 1 February 2015 - The body of an unidentified woman was found off Maqueripe Road near Chaguaramas Sunday around 2:00 PM. A passing motorist detected a foul smell in the area and called police.

Police discovered the decomposing body of a woman with her hands bound. Her body was so badly decomposed that police could not determine if there were marks of violence about the body.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed upon identification of the body and police are seeking help from the public to identify the woman. 

John Kalicharn - Murder #30

Murder #30: Male, 52 years old, shot to death.

Shopkeeper murdered in Arima
Sat 31 January 2015 - Around 1:45 PM Saturday 52-year-old John Kalicharan of Maturita Extension Arima was standing outside the mini-mart he operated in front of his home.

The shopkeeper saw a man with a firearm approaching, so Kalicharan ran away in a futile attempt to escape. The gunman followed the shopkeeper and shot him to death in the backyard.

Police were called and arrived a short time later to begin their investigations. The victim's body was taken to the St James Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy to be performed on Monday.

Kalicharan was convicted of four counts of armed robbery back in 1989. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison and 30 lashes for his crimes. He suffered 20 of the 30 lashes during his life behind bars.

Kalicharan spent 22 years in prison until his conviction was overturned and he was released in July 2013. 

Ricky Joseph - Murder #25

Murder #25: Male, 37 years old, shot to death.

Assassination in Couva
Sat 31 January 2015 - Early Saturday morning around 3:45 AM, father of two Ricky Roger Joseph, 37, of Claxton Bay was shot to death outside his mother's Balisier Street, Couva house. He had just given family and friends a ride home from a night of liming nearby.

After dropping off his passengers, Joseph was sitting behind the wheel of his parked car, when a man wearing a hoodie walked up and started shooting. The victim was struck about the body multiple times and died instantly. The killer than escaped in a nearby waiting car.

Police were called and Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for an autopsy to be performed Monday.

Joseph was released from prison in 2010 after being charged, along with another man, for the murder of a disk jockey in 2003. The two men were tried twice, each trial ending in a hung jury

Jern Lewis - Murder #24

Murder #24: Male, 29 years old, shot to death.

Laventille shooting
Sat 24 January 2015 - At corner of St Paul and Clifton Streets, in Laventille, near the Besson Street Police Station Saturday night around 10:00 PM, a group of men were liming. One of them was 29-year-old Kern Lewis of Hillview Terrace, East Dry River.

Two masked men approached the group and started shooting, killing Lewis instantly. The gunmen then escaped on foot. Police soon arrived to find Lewis dead at the crime scene. He had been shot multiple times about the body.

An autopsy is to be performed on Monday at the Forensic Science Centre in St James . Police currently have no motive or suspects for the killing, but they suspect it might be gang-related. 

Marcia Henville - Murder #23

Murder #23: Female, 50 years old, stabbed to death.

TV personality murdered
Sat 24 January 2015 - Saturday morning around 5:30 AM, neighbors of TV host and journalist Marcia Henville heard a loud argument and then screams and an explosion. Moments later they saw smoke coming from the bedroom window of the upscale apartment in Fidelis Heights, St Augustine, where Henville lived with her husband and two children.

The fire department and police were called and arrived shortly to put out the fire. Inside the bedroom they found the charred remains of the 50-year-old host of the television crime show Point Blank, lying face down on the mattress of her bed.

The fire was confined to the bedroom and Henville's husband, Sheldon, suffered burns about the body and was taken to hospital.

Caroni teen shot at home
Sat 17 January 2015 - Mother of one, 19-year-old Salma Chadee, of Chadee Street, La Paille Village, Caroni, was shot to death by her boyfriend around 9:30 PM Saturday.

According to relatives, the boyfriend had been living at Chadee's Caroni home for some time and was in a relationship with the teen. The boyfriend had recently been in an automobile accident which put him into a wheelchair with two broken legs.

Family members told police the couple got into an argument Saturday evening.

Kareem Mitchell - Murder #21

Murder #21: Male, 25 years old, shot to death.

No good deed goes unpunished
Sat 17 January 2015 - Saturday morning around 4:30 AM outside Boy Joe's Bar on Southern Main Road in Marabella, 25-year-old Kareem "Kid" Mitchell was gunned down while partying.

The father of one was with friends liming, when another man nearby started touching and harassing one of Mitchell's lady friends. The 25-year-old mason, who worked for United Engineering, went over to intervene. The two men got into an argument, but eventually the other man left. Shortly afterward he came back with a gun and shot Mitchell three times in the back and then ran away.

Mitchell, who lived at Fourier Street, Battoo Avenue, Marabella, was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) by police. He later died while undergoing emergency surgery around 7:30 AM that same morning.
